Excursions

The conference team is arranging excursions to famous locations demonstrating issues of urban biodiversity and design as well as cultural highlights in Germany.

Important information: Even in May, water / windproof clothing, such as an anorak are advisable, although sun protection may also be required. Those undertaking excursions in the Wartburg area or to the Hainich National Park should also take at least a warm jumper and stout walking shoes.

 

Mid conference excursion

Thursday, 22nd May 2008, half-day (on foot)

Thematic parallel excursions

Saturday, 24th May 2008, full day

 

Excursion 1  Historic landscape park “An der Ilm” and historic city Weimar (UNESCO World Heritage "Classical Weimar") (by train)
Excursion 2 Wartburg Castle by Eisenach (UNESCO World Heritage "Wartburg") and Bachhaus in Eisenach

Excursion 3 Nature Park “Schöneberger Railway Area” and inner city of Berlin (by coach)
